Art Is

Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.
— Oscar Wilde

Even when we sit in an art class full of other budding artists and share the same teachings, the same models, the same materials, what we produce individually is entirely our own expression of what we learned, saw, and worked with.

From the travail of each art piece crafted there is an essence which may touch that part of an observer creating within a  longing to possess it themselves. What it says or means to them may not be the same as what it meant to the creator, but that does not matter.

Or perhaps it matters more, for now it carries a greater meaning in being shared by those who have possessed it.
