Here is a word with applications that vary with the use of that word. A word applicable to the artist and to that artist’s work.

I have been looking at the artwork that I produce lately and have wondered about the direction I should next take in order to consistently improve techniques and explore new options. That is where, I will confess, I become bogged down in all the “what if”s and “then what’s”. I am impressed with the new works that I see around today’s world of art but, there is a but, I wonder which pieces will in 100 years still catch at the heart and soul and create the “I want that” moment in the observer.

What is it that is required to consistently produce works that will resonate into the future while resonating in the heart of the one who is creating them?
